Introducing…An Alpha’s Second Chance

It’s been over ten months since my debut release. I’ve learned a lot, grown a lot as a writer and met some incredible readers along the way. I’m proud of the work I’ve done, but that was only the beginning. With February 18th  approaching, it’s time I introduce my second release.

An Alpha’s Second Chance, The Prequel

Corrine Snow’s only reason to return to her home town is to help her mother downsize. She is decidedly not interested in the buried memories being home resurfaces. Particularly those of the love of her life, make that ex- love of her life, Jarrod Hudson. The best laid plans are meant to be broken.

Jarrod Hudson has always known that Corrinne Snow was his mate. His greatest regret is letting her walk away, but duty kept him planted in the town she left behind. Now she has returned. Time may be limited, but all he needs is an opportunity. Once he has her attention, he is determined to never let her go again. It won’t come without sacrifice.

No love is ever easy. Theirs is particularly difficult to manage. Jarrod has not just his own secrets to content with, but those of his pack to consider. He hasn’t

An Alpha’s Second Chance,  Not what I had planned.

I spent six months last year working on a book that was not The Alpha’s Second Chance. In fact, the only reason The Alpha’s Second Chance got written, was because I needed a break from my original work in progress. I’m decidedly surprised at the outcome.

If you’ve been with me, you know that last year got off the hinges when my third child was born. Exhaustion, writers block, and good old fashion time management got into the way of everything. When I found my footing again, I was completely behind the eight ball on the work that I’d planned for a year. The best laid plans are meant to be broken.

I’m glad they were.

My second work in progress was meant to follow the story of Euphoria Atkins best friend Charlotte Jackson. It is so beautiful. The hero is so complex, and definitely fights me tooth and nail on getting his nuance right. However, the battle between them, when coupled with my personal shortcomings was proving to great. I knew there was no way I would have it finished by my prescribed release date. So 70k words in, I took a break.

My logic was just getting something publishable and still publish worthy out the first quarter of my year would set me up for a greater chance of meeting my 2018 goals. So, I started something else. A fifteen chapter outline, meant to come out to roughly 20k words and be ready just after Valentines day. I had no idea that it would grow…

Finally, it was clearly taking on a new life and I made the decision to create natural breaking points in my work. The completed project would not be finished by the deadline, but there was enough of a story to create a beautiful project for release. Thus the prequel was born. I didn’t know it then, but an amazing editor, and a little vision helped that to be possible.

The story of Corrinne and Jarrod is broken into three parts with the Prequel being the first in the serial. I have ideas on how it will grow from there, but we will see. Right now, there is only February 18th in sight and one wonderful story to unfold.
